Eco-conscious Aromatica slays the K-beauty market with Zero Station

You know from my previous post how much I adore K-Beauty line Aromatica!

{Aromatica Zero Station}

I was able to get the full tour of their flagship Zero Station location in Seoul, Korea where they are single-handedly making major moves as not only a leading beauty brand using clean, simple, vegan ingredients for their products, but also doing their part to keep our blue planet beautiful.

The moment you get to their aesthetically pleasing storefront, café tables and chairs made from recycled materials like masks fill their entryway to reduce energy and maximize resources.. When you walk in, you’re greeted by baristas and kombucha brewers.  Further into the Zero Station, you can test their many products ranging from skin care such as cleansers and toners to hair care products like tonics.

You can also take your nose on an adventure to their Color Therapy and Aroma Zone where professionals can help you determine which essential oils suit you best!  They make all their oils in house using ingredients like rosemary grown right in their garden so you don’t have to worry about gross pesticides!

{Eco-Friendly but make it aesthetic}

I was able to see how they take plastic bottle caps using their machine to chop them to pieces to create tables, chairs, and soap holders all at their very own plastic mill workshop.. I was so impressed with the operation, I had never seen anything like it!

To help keep plastics and glass out of the ocean, you can take your own washed empties (examples: beauty product bottles, even from other brands, and even your plastic coffee cups), to their outside recycle bins located right next to their store.  They have a sink to clean out your bottles if you forget!

Rewinding back to their furniture.  They create their own from those recycled bottle caps, plastics, and as mentioned, even used face masks to make café tables – YAS!  How often do you see dirty, used face masks littering our beaches and parks now?!  They actually were able to take something that ends up in the trash into a sustainable piece of furniture and they do this all in-house!

Let me tell you about their glorious refill station where you can get discounts when you refill your Aromatica products! You can bring your own containers from home or purchase one of their Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic or glass to refill on body washes, hair care, and they also have dish soap!  My personal favorites are the Rosemary All-in-One Body Wash and Aloe Vera Gel – all available for refill!

{Save the Skin, Save the Planet}

I feel like I’m all over the place, because I was so blown away by the measures they’ve taken to truly live up to their motto of Save the Skin, Save the Planet.  They reflect on the belief that the power of beauty is generated by nature and shouldn’t be artificial.  Their formulations are designed to help people live in a beautiful, safer world.

If you get a little thirsty between smelling all the oils and trying out their products, you can take a break and grab a coffee or kombucha that’s all made right onsite!  I ended up getting the mango kombucha and my friend Helen from @thruhelenslens got the passionfruit.  Perfectly flavored and just the right amount of fizz I like..

I’m already a big fan of Aromatica’s products because it makes my skin feel so fresh without feeling greasy, even after this crazy humid Korean summer. The products from their Aloe Hy-ffective line are perfect for all skin types (try them all at their store!) and I just absolutely LOVE how my skin feels after doing my ritualistic morning skincare.. and now I have a new appreciation for Aromatica that runs deep.

As we have seen in the news with plastic in the oceans hurting our wildlife, and not to mention all those gross ingredients that can actually hurt your skin, Aromatica is going above and beyond to help our planet in ways I’m so appreciative a Korean beauty brand has never done before.
