Let me show you the behind the scenes of how I got the full K-celeb hair makeover treatment at an upscale salon in Seoul; the most therapeutic, amazing, life changing experience ever! But first, the ponytail I walked in with…
I’ve been taking care of my hair at home (because self care) with my Amos Professional products and it’s been a life saver.. but I wanted the full package with professional magic fingers. I’ll admit it’d been a solid 20 months since I stepped foot in a salon.. so I was beyond excited to get my head washed, brushed, and styled by someone else!
{I made sure my hair was extra dirty}
You all know I only wash it once a week.. so they had their work cut out.. but it was the ultimate test!
After arriving in the salon, I felt like a VIP being whisked away to the almost private hair washing station.. the stylist started off by getting my hair wet and applying the True Repair Shampoo. This provided my hair with some much needed intensive nourishing treatment because my split ends I swear were literally screaming. Rinse. The second step was the True Repair Treatment CMC which stands for Cell Membrane Complex. This is basically the conditioner which helps for repairing damaged hair.. or hair like mine that just really needed some extra help.
Even though I use these products at home, I swear it works better when someone else applies it to your head.. I mean right?! I got the best head massage to my temples and scalp that made me feel some kind of way. I could have fallen asleep if it wasn’t weird. After another rinse, I got the Green Tea Intensive Tonic sprayed in sections directly to my roots.
The secret weapon with this green bottle of fantasticalness is its anti-hair loss treatment made from green tea right from Jeju island in Korea. It’s the Green Tea Extract that helps strengthen your roots. It felt so cooling on my scalp!

The stylist wrapped my hair up and had me sit at the hair station to get blow dried and styled. My hair was so silky soft it only took a few brushes to get my hair detangled and pin straight.
While it was towel dried, they sprayed the Green Tea Volume Mist that helps create a voluminous like EXTRA VOLUME style while keeping the hair looking healthy and natural. The white leaf green tea (also known as white matcha), has three times the amount of amino acids to aid in moisture and strength, preventing baldness and hair loss. Even if you don’t have thinning hair, doesn’t hurt to start early!

They blow dried my hair in sections and I instantly started feeling like a celebrity.. At one point I had 3-4 people working on my hair in this orchestrated fashion and everyone knew exactly what to do with the brushes, blow dryer, and then the curling iron. They strategically wrapped my hair around the hair tool with just a bit of the end (about half an inch or so) held so it’s a tad straight. This keeps the curls modern rather than having a full head of wedding curls.
I was going for the Taeyeon look from Girls Generation for inspiration – I mean what a brunette beauty!! They also flat ironed the top few inches of my head closer to the root (which I’m going to have to steal that technique and try at home), so just the middle areas were perfectly curled. The last step was the Satin Pleasure Oil Mist – and this really was the icing on the cupcake.. It smells like I stepped on a flight to Hawaii and into a fresh flower shop.. the rose, jasmine, and tuberose are the main notes and the eight oils work in a way that doesn’t leave your hair sticky, but giving your hair the nutrition for moist and silky satin hair.
Spray away.. spray away… With that final touch, my hair felt SUPER light, bouncy, and like I was ready to walk the runway.. but like, for hair…
{K-Celeb hair meets K-Pop}
The ponytail I walked into was turned into this glamorous K-beauty celeb hair style and I needed to show it off.. Naturally, I headed to a nearby café owned by SM Town (if you know, you know). My K-celeb hair style needed an outing for some desserts and drinks.. I mean why not, gotta do you..
P.S. I got the red velvet smoothie (it had chunks of red velvet cake in there – you’re welcome) and red velvet cupcake which was inspired by Girls Generation.. so fitting. All was right in the world, even for just a few hours.
I know it may be difficult for some to get to a salon right now, but you can enjoy these products right at home.
