I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent staring at my phone in ultimate FOMO mode from all the Instagram photos posted from the ultimate desert music festival. And to add insult to injury, all the parties attended by social media elite (somehow that is a thing now) and I couldn’t have scrolled fast enough with my fingers.. pretty sure I’ve cracked my joints more this week from the constant up and down movement on my screen. Even though I couldn’t go to the festival since I’m currently living a tad bit far away, didn’t mean I couldn’t dress up for the occasion.. but also still be appropriate for Seoul where it’s a little more reserved.. If you follow me on Instagram, you got some sneak peeks of this outfit.. if you don’t follow me, you probably should.. it’s a good idea.
{my nochella coachella outfit}
I’ve always loved a good scarf accessory and lately I’ve been trying to pull things from my closet that I haven’t worn in awhile. I reeealllllyyyy need to purge my closet since making the big move, but finding the time, not to mention how boring it is to go through piles of clothing hasn’t been at the top of my list.. exploring Seoul and this blog have been my past time activities as of late.
Since we are on the topic of getting rid of clothing (to make space for more… or at least be able to hang everything on an actual hanger and not on the floor), if anyone has a method they would like to share that works, please comment below or shoot me a DM on Instagram! My system is to start in one part of my closet and work my way through each section until I finish (even if on different days) and touch each piece to determine if I need it or not.. ask myself, do I still like it, would I wear it again (realistically), when was the last time I wore it, and would it look better on my little sister than me now? If I hold onto something that is questionable that should be chucked in the “dispose” pile, and I can’t let it go, I save it and repeat the process about 3 months later. If I still didn’t wear it, then it HAS to go. I’m just a little behind on my own process.
I hadn’t worn the shirt I have on in the pictures in probably about 2 years. And it totally worked for this outfit. THAT is my problem, I’ll wear something, tuck it away in my closet, and somehow 2 years later, I’ll make it work with another outfit (these are the exception pieces). The problem lies within the fact I can usually make a piece resurface so I can’t let things go.. literally a closet hoarder and I need to be more stringent on myself and follow my own advice. Btw, the little cafe this was shot at is called oneinamillion located in Hannam-dong near Itaewon. Totally Instagrammable and you’ll see cute little Korean girls posing with the pink decor.. and probably me, because I like to frequent that place. Coffee is their specialty as well as sugary cotton candy and tiramisu desserts.
{outfit inspiration}
Anyways, this was not the direction this post was originally going to go, but it got me thinking about how I selected my outfit and where the inspiration came from: Coachella and I was determined to use clothing from my closet I’ve actively held on to, to prove that I will wear it again. So if you’re like me and have a hard time letting go of some pieces, make those pieces work!! Otherwise, get the hell rid of it.
Happy Friday babes!!
