It’s freezing outside.. luckily MaxMara had an exhibit appropriately called Coats! Fashion irony…

You’ve probably heard me say multiple times how much I’m freezing rn in Seoul.  If you follow me on the gram, I may have made mention of it a few times.. literally about 10 degrees each morning this past week and I can’t handle that kind of life. What can get me outside is going to see an exhibit about staying warm.. Well, sort of..  MaxMara Coats! Seoul

MaxMara, an italian brand which started in the 60’s completely transformed the DDP (where all the cool exhibits are in Seoul), to go through each time period of the “coat”.  You could truly see the transformation at each period of time from the 60’s to today.

The last time the exhibit was in show was in Moscow, Russia back 2011.  Before that it was displayed in Beijing, Tokyo, and Berlin.  So lucky that living in Seoul we get these pop up exhibits.. I had no clue before moving here I would be given such an opportunity to attend Seoul Fashion Week, see exhibits from luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Chanel.. Definitely a treat and I’m ok with it not being covered in chocolate and sea salt..

The exhibit was only in town for a few weeks.. I caught it just days before they wrapped up.  I braved the cold with my own wool coat..

There was a Photo Booth with professional photographer that snapped photos of us (read: girls) wearing one of the famous camel colored coats designed by Achille Maramotti.  Also, if you’ve been following my IG stories, I recently had a little procedure done to my eyes so I wandered around makeup-less 2 days after surgery and blind (well I had glasses but for photos I switched to my sunnies to hide the bruising).. talk about serious dedication to the art of fashion.. If you haven’t followed my stories, click here.. at least it’ll make for a good laugh to see my face bruised!

At the end of the exhibit, in the middle of the circular showcase, was a dome (of amazingness).  They had these couches where you almost lie down on and stare at the ceiling while all these cool kaleidoscope type of designs appeared.  I almost passed out from it being so vast and soothing..

Bravo MaxMara to highlighting something that I really depend on to keep my body warm in the winter into such an icon throughout the years.  Hopefully it won’t be another 6 years before they have the exhibit in another major city!

Also, December needs to slow the eff down.. k bye!!!!
